Precious Mother & Dear Friend

Mrs. Daisy Jean Kirk, fondly known as Ms. Daisy, Aunt Daisy, and Mama Kirk was born September 8, 1935 to the late Tom and Annette Colvin. This precious mother and dear friend to all, peacefully answered the call to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.

How She Loved Praising God

"Mama Kirk," as she liked to be called by many, enjoyed attending church, singing (how she loved praising God), cooking (her barbeque sauce was out of this world), spending time with family and friends, pampering her flowers, and helping any  and everyone.
She devoted endless hours to supporting and working dutifully at Rice Chapel UMC where she served as member of Pastor Parish Relations Committee, Trustees, choir, and  Hospitality committee. Rice Chapel served as a catalyst for the new River of Living Water UMC where she and her husband Amos Kirk continued to serve faithfully.

Family & Community

In later life, Mr. Amos and Mrs. Daisy Kirk renewed their marital vows to the delight of the family and community.

She worked at Ridgeview Nursing Home for 13 years as a Nurse's assistant. Then she pursued another profession of helping women  in Walker County by providing them assistance from the Bus on Wheels.  After retirement, she worked as a Senior Aide at Oakman Elementary School assisting students during recess. Ms. Daisy bonded with the faculty and staff at Oakman Elementary. There was an outpouring of love from the students.
