4th Church Anniversary Celebration

January 28, 2018

On January 28, 2018, River of Living Water Celebrated its 4th anniversary in thanksgiving to God for the ministries of the past four years.

We are looking forward to another year of excitement as the church seeks to fulfill God's work in Jasper, Frisco and  Oakman communities and beyond.

Our guest preacher for the occasion was Reverend Patrick Friday. He encouraged, inspired and challenge the church to continue to seek to live out the meaning of River of Living Water in our current context. He drew upon his experiences as one who has been involved in local ministry in Alabama and global church leadership. Dr. Richard L. Stryker, pastor, introduced his friend and colleague to the congregation.

As part of the worship, the church offered thanks for the ministry of Dr. Tom Camp who passed away on January 21st. Dr. Camp was one of the founding leaders of River of Living Water UMC as well as Alabama Honduras Medical Educational Network (AHMEN).

The church welcomed to the US and to the church, Triston Bennette, from Honduras. As a young person, he has served with AHMEN and the Backpack Ministry. We are glad to see him here and wish him well in his studies. He and Rev. Leisha Boulware extended greetings to the congregation.

Music was provided by our guest musician and saxophonist Bro. Samuel South, the River of Living Water (ROLW) Youth & Children Choral Group and the ROLW Church Choir. Andreanna Hatcher, Tyra Price and Zanala Hamm enriched the worship experience with praise dancing

It was absolute joy to have a number of first time visitors join us for this occasion. After the worship, the congregation gathered for a celebration meal planned by the hospitality committee. A special thanks to all who joined in this celebration.
